The club is to facilitate establishing and expanding business links amongst aerospace companies and other interested organisations and contribute to promoting aviation technologies in other branches of industry. The club's strengths are:

• availability of its information to the Internet community in both English and Russian;

• members' ability to remotely control the contents of his/her data package;

As to the club founders, the project has been launched by the non-profit organisation Aviation and Aeronautics Institute (AAI) that was established in 1996 and is aimed under its charter at:

• meeting the educational services market's requirements for educating, training and retraining aviation specialists;
• providing consulting services on advanced information technology applications, scientific support of advanced programmes, promoting international cooperation, etc.
